Not Your Average Tour
Because The Concept Project is dedicated to building awareness through unique mental and physical challenges where the athletes get acquainted with the cause.
Three childhood friends (Tom, Geneva, and Amy) pitched the idea of a riding NH’s peaks and valleys in the name of mental illness. Remember when The Concept Project raised $10K for National Alliance on Mental Illness, New Hampshire, by walking from Mount Washington to Hampton Beach during the 2020 Blizzard? Well, the friends’ idea was a perfect Concept Project match!
New Hampshire struggles with supporting its residents who suffer from mental illness. Did you know only 49% of NH adults with mental illness receive treatment privately or publicly?
(MHA statistics). Or that NH's youth has among the highest rate of substance use in the country and it ranks 3rd in drug related deaths per capita? And that 100,000+ residents are in need of treatment for addiction but only 6% get it? (NH Charitable Foundation) New Hampshire is in a mental health crisis.
During the Highs & Lows Tour, riders will develop a deeper understanding of the challenges surrounding addiction, hear stories from a suicide survivor, and learn how to personally recognize and manage anxiety.
The awareness building component of this event is what The Concept Project is most excited about. Imagine the ripple effect that educating 100 endurance athletes will have on local communities.
